C³S²E in Montréal

The C* Conference on Computer Science and Software Engineering (C³S²E) was held at Concordia University in Montréal from May 19th to 21st. The anual conference is primarily attended by Canadian universities.

A paper of mine got accepted talking about the work I did for my master thesis. The general trip was nice. Montréal is terrific city and the weather was perfect. However, I do have to say that the conference was both poorly organized and the academic level was disappointing. Most presentations were actually crafted by collecting half-long passages from the papers. With an average of more than 40 words per page – how is anyone supposed to read that? The fact that this was a comprehensive conference presenting papers from all different research areas didn’t make it much more interesting. On a scale from 0 to 5, with 5 being the best, I would give it a 1.5.
